Before you play a game you need to know the basics. When you're playing bingo there's really not too much to learn. You do need to know your way around a bingo card. There are many variations of bingo cards but most will be similar to the card described here. |

A standard bingo card is a five by five grid as shown below, five columns and five rows. At the top of the grid are the letters B-I-N-G-O. Each letter corresponds to one of the columns below. The boxes in the grid usually contain numbers. It is the combination of the top letter and grid number that will be called out in a bingo game, such as B-11 or N-37. When you hear a combination that you have on your card you cover or mark it somehow, trying to make a specified pattern to win the game. For examples of bingo variations and online fun try Dream Bingo. |

The center grid space is often a "Free Space". This space is automatically credited to you before the game starts. You can use this space to complete any pattern. And that's basically all there is to a bingo card. Good luck! |
